100% Low-Fat Walnut & Oatmeal Brownie's..;)

Walnut Brownies have been my "Fav" since College...we'd get real yummy walnut brownies, and i'd load myself with them every time i'd go there...!! That's where my first love for brownies began....& the bhaiya there would even tempt me by asking shall i pour some hot chocolate sauce on this and i would never say no...!! "AJ" (Ajish my hubby) who has always been health conscious...would always say I've put on weight every single time he visited me from Dubai....& I'd say" Bhai Khate-peete ghar se hoon" so.. thoda tagdi tho lagoongi naah!!(for those who didn't follow that..in hindi means: well i belong to a well to do family who eats rich food and that's what is showing on me...!!(A rather lame or common excuse from those who are lazy enough not to exercise even for 15mins a day). Well all the laziness vanished out of me after my daughter was born...she is a complete disciplinarian to me every thing need to happen on ...

Chatpatta Mango - Tomato Salsa...;)

A variety of mango which many people often dislike in Karnataka when it comes to choice against the vast selection available is Baiganpalli, ...But for me when it's mango season i can just about eat any......;) The other day I happened to find the same out here in Dubai, so all excited ...I picked up 4nos, but not everybody at my place liked it so after pondering a while if I must simply use it for my daughter's morning breakfast or should I try something  new & Make sure they eat this one, obviously I went for the second choice,  & decided to have everyone eat it but without their knowledge, juice would have been a very easy choice which most of them would have guessed instantly, but easy peasy choices don't help me learn...so decided to try something new and a sudden thought struck me &  remembered having eaten this in a Mexican joint out here say about 3 years back with a colleague of mine, while we were driving back after a meeting in Abu ...

Sprouted Ragi,Moong,Wheat & Almonds Porridge for kids

Sprouted Ragi, Sprouted Moong,Sprouted Wheat & Almonds all make a complete whole meal for babies above six months. Even adults could use this as a health drink, well about the health benefits of ragi are widely known or rather better known as finger millets they turn out to be the best source  of carbohydrates, proteins, and  a whole bunch of vitamins for children & when accompanied with moong, wheat & almonds, well what can i say...?? Almost every south indian household makes this after the birth of a child, & since I've lived almost all my life in South india(Bangalore), this was done in my place too...when i delivered my daughter... ( actually south or north india how does it really matter what matters is, is this good for my child, if yes what's wrong in adapting to it...??) . Ragi is a little filling for young babies hence it is always advised to feed them during the day so it can be well digested, but, some people also suggest...

nO sWEAT - Mango Cooler...;)

Summer Summer what can i say...my baby's going bonkers with the heat....it's 43 - 45 deg and above here, and that definately means no Outdoor activity for my baby, no more visits to the park even at 6 in the evening  or for that matter after sundown it's a sad sad 39 - 40 deg hot. Terrible for kids...but the good thing is that schools will close in a matter of 1 or 2 weeks maximum, who doesn't like summer vacation in their home country...atleast it's a lot better than here...!! Coming back to coolers, well my babe was really thirsty and i decided to give her something cool, instead of plain water...and i came across a mango in the refrigerator, and wullah i required just 4 ingredient's...!! Ingredients: Ripe Mango: 1 Large Sized. Sugar: To Taste. Cardamom: 3-4 nos( crushed ). Water: 2 Glasses. Mint: To garnish. Method: Peel the mango and take all the fruit flesh. Add the Mango flesh, Sugar, Cardamom, &Water in a blender, blend it to a pulp consi...

Sprouts & Fruit Salad

Sprout & Fruit Salad Salad's is something my hubby would once upon a time stay far apart from. But at my place it's like an everyday thing...once married  i  was feeling the deepest cravings for salads, then one day my mom in law said " deary go ahead and make what you know " who eats or not is not important, we'll try that everyone eats...!! sweetie pie that she is, generally very reserved for kerelite food she at least encouraged me do make what  i  love to eat...i was very happy...;) That's how the story began then  i  moved on to Dubai with hubby and we continued making salads now and then, and after trying different permutations & combinations  i  finally succeeded but now we have this one salad everyday at least once ...how boring....!! but hubby really loves this one...!! Ingredients: Moong Sprouts:  2 - 3 Tbsp. Apple: 2 - 3 Tbsp(Diced). Strawberries: 2 - 3 Tbsp(Diced). Carrots: 2 - 3 Tbsp(Grated). Pomegrana...

Oatmeal Pancakes with strawberries & honey(Eggless).

Another healthy breakfast option recipe..;) often we think of how good, bad or ugly something might taste and are scared to try it or just brush even the thought aside saying oh...it's something that's not common in our culture so why try un necessarily..!! We are all familiar with both the terms Oatmeal & Pancakes...so i decided to try Oatmeal pancakes...a healthier option to the regular pancakes which are rich and quite heavy on the stomach. Having a very liberal hubby on such issues the poor man was my first guinea pig too for this one, and my experiment did quite well... and now my hubby needs pancakes as breakfast atleast 1 - 2times in a week...sometimes even packed for work....quite encouraging that was...;) The good thing is that it takes just a jiffy to get one pancake off the stove...! The best part being you can make both healthy and heavy in the tummy versions very easily...with not very difficult variations...!! Ingredients: Oatmeal(quic...

Heavenly Devilish..Oatmeal & Walnut Cookies(Eggless)

I'd been wanting to bake cookies since the time i was about 7-8yrs old...but baking always looked like one big task...!! Had seen mum seive, beat and dishup several dishes she learnt from being glued to the Idiot box,or Cookery classes & several from her own experimental disaster's...but as all mum's are my Mum's an awesome cook tooo...!! But being a vegan most of the time(except those days when i want to pig out on cakes & other bakes....i make it an exception ...(i'm a vegan by choice since childhood;) Then came days when hubby(unlike me a strict non-vegetarian) was under a "Healthy Eating Spree" all of a sudden it was like i just didn't have anything to cook especially for breakfast's that's when i started out on looking up & cooking up things which come under category "Healthy" most of what i got instantly for breakfast's was from the blog of a school friend of mine Madhuri(Mad's thankx for the ideas they ...
