Post Title: +Instant Green Moong Dal Dosa/ Instant Green Gram Indian Savory Crepe..;)

Racking your brains..what to make..?? for Breakfast is indeed a big task...especially when you have people going to work and you work your self..then its a larger challenge...well lets add one more option to our daily +Breakfast Recipes..;). " Moong dal Chilla/Dosa/Crepe"!!
Easy to make and i also made a very easy n quick tomato chutney along with it...which was a hit at my place..;).

This one is a long lost recipe, my mum makes some variations of this one with a combination of different dal's at times...also adds Dill leaves..and it tastes really yum..that way too.....but i decided to go simple this time..just to see how the taste would be accepted at my place where i have a bunch of fussy eaters..!!
" My Husband and our Two Little Ones..;)" I just got Lucky !!..;0.

I have added a concise collage below,of the simple steps i followed just for your Reference..!! Happy Eating People..;)

Preparation time: 30 mins
Cooking Time: 10 mins.
Serves: 10-12 Med sized Crepes/Dosa's.

What goes Inside:

  1. Whole Green Moong Dal/Green Gram: 2 Cups.
  2. Onion:1 Med sized.
  3. Green Chillies: 2 nos.
  4. Jeera/Cumin seeds: 1/4 Tsp.
  5. Curry Leaves: 8 nos.
  6. Ginger:1/2" Piece.
  7. Cloves/Lavang: 3-4 nos.
  8. Cinnamon stick/Dalchini: 1" Stick.
  9. Dry Red Chilly: 2 nos.
  10. Salt: To Taste.

How to put it together:

  • Soak the Green Gram in water for about 30 mins, i normally prefer to soak it in the night(about 6-8 hours also gives you a good dosa),but the days i forget and need to think what can be done instantly this gives me my flight to glory.
  • Coarse grind the Green chillies, curry leaves, ginger, cinnamon stick, cloves. Jeera, dry red chilly together and set aside.
  • Now drain the soaked Dal and grind with enough water to come to a Dosa batter pouring consistency, make a smooth paste.(when you add water to the batter after grinding, or the dosa's won't turn out crispy).
  • Add the pre-ground masala, which we made earlier into this batter, chop one onion finely add to batter, next add salt and, mix thoroughly.
  • Now on a pre heated Tawa/Girdle, rub little oil and wipe with a tissue, spread the batter in a spiral movement forming a round shape, spray a little oil, allow to cook, when you notice one side done, turn over and allow the other side to cook and make hot dosa's, and relish with the chutney of your choice.
  • We enjoyed this with +tomato chutney/fry.

+Green PeasPulao / Matar Pulao(One Pot Meal...;)

Matar/Green Peas Pulao(One Pot Meal): Weekend's somehow make me feel weak in the knees to eat rice...i feel really bored to have roti's & dosas the whole week through..!! My versatile pallets and the stomach who's used to eat variety from mom screams out and demands more variety on the weekends. However though a weekday today i broke the usual rules and cooked up my favorite "Matar Pulao" which doesn't take much time as well as it's not too much  of a labor, since it all goes in one pot and pressure cook cool and serve, so i don't need to even wash too many dishes, so last night's dinner was Green Peas Pulao, Karnataka style with a slight variation for the sake of good health..;P What goes Inside: 1Cup: Basmati Rice(i used Basmati, since this is what i can acquire here easily ) or normal cooking rice of your choice. Spices: As per your taste you may add or delete the same(Cinnamon sticks+Green Cardamom+Cloves+Cumin/Jeer

+Homemade Indian Curds / Yoghurt/ Dahi/ Thair Recipe:)

+Homemade curds Recipe: It's amazing how life changes after marriage! Especially simple things such as consumption of curds too .....after being marrying a ' mallu boy ', I was amazed at the way they either mix curd in everything or rather cook almost everything with curd!! Initially it was a culture shock for me, a Rajput( being born n brought up one)!! I hardly had had curd ever in life until then!! Well as with anyone things changed gradually for me too....I understood far too quickly that I need to master the art of making well set curd as soon as possible...( yes...even curd setting is as good as Art..!!)... well finally after 10 years of marriage, two kids and infinite trials and error methods I came out victorious, this one really works well each time!!! The important thing is it really works well on our wallets too....and works fantabulous-ly on the health of our kids too..:) Now I can brag about making my very own dahi- Sakkar, dahi n parantha's, dahi Kari'
