Walnut Brownies have been my "Fav" since College...we'd get real yummy walnut brownies, and i'd load myself with them every time i'd go there...!! That's where my first love for brownies began....& the bhaiya there would even tempt me by asking shall i pour some hot chocolate sauce on this and i would never say no...!! "AJ" (Ajish my hubby) who has always been health conscious...would always say I've put on weight every single time he visited me from Dubai....& I'd say" Bhai Khate-peete ghar se hoon" so.. thoda tagdi tho lagoongi naah!!(for those who didn't follow that..in hindi means: well i belong to a well to do family who eats rich food and that's what is showing on me...!!(A rather lame or common excuse from those who are lazy enough not to exercise even for 15mins a day). Well all the laziness vanished out of me after my daughter was born...she is a complete disciplinarian to me every thing need to happen on ...

When it comes to getting your toddler to eat healthy food yet something that looks more like what all other children buy from the supermarket & eat...well "healthy carrot muffins", there couldn't be a better answer at least for the moment when i don't have too much time to cook , for kids who are naughtier & families who are naughtier.... what could be a better idea than this...?? The most important part was that each yummy cupcake contains about 1/2 a serving of veggies,without the frosting, plus healthy enough for your child to have them every day. It took off really cool & everybody ate the cupcakes as if they had never tasted something like this actually they had never tasted something like this...!! As the carrot cup cakes baked in my oven the sweet aroma of carrots filled the house, the great thing was that it took only about 20-25 mins to get them all done...hmmmm...smells heavenly...!! well try it, I'm sure you will have the same opinion...

Being a first time mom I'm often anxious about raising my child(she is 14 months old now),often find myself in situations where i don't have a clue as to what to do and how to handle a particular situation.I'm sure many of you face this situation...so this goes out to all my friends who are/were in this situation. Hmmm...Heavenly smell of Parantha's sets a different mood in the whole household,people automatically begin looking like "Jerry mouse" of Tom & Jerry fame who goes weak in the knees with the heavenly smeel of Cheese, jeeezzzz.....!!! Mom goes frantic when it's parantha day at my place, coz she seldom gets a chance to even sit and eat a hot parantha with all that luxury of parantha's coming straight from the tawa/Ladle straight  to her plate... Yummmm...it's more of an imaginative visual experience for her or rather the halucination she goes through...especially when she see's most women her age being served by their bahu's...!! Mom's moment of glory is yet to arrive in say hmmmm...about 10-15yrs from now since my brother is just 14 yrs old now...;( tough luck yet mom...then she takes in a deep breath sighing says " Mera Number Kab Ayega..??"(Meaning: When will my turn to sit and have 3 meals with peace & be served come...?? well...

Sprouted Ragi, Sprouted Moong,Sprouted Wheat & Almonds all make a complete whole meal for babies above six months. Even adults could use this as a health drink, well about the health benefits of ragi are widely known or rather better known as finger millets they turn out to be the best source  of carbohydrates,proteins,and  a whole bunch of vitamins for children & when accompanied with moong, wheat & almonds, well what can i say...?? Almost every south indian household makes this after the birth of a child, & since I've lived almost all my life in South india(Bangalore), this was done in my place too...when i delivered my daughter... ( actually south or north india how does it really matter what matters is, is this good for my child, if yes what's wrong in adapting to it...??) . Ragi is a little filling for young babies hence it is always advised to feed them during the day so it can be well digested, but, some people also suggest...

Puliyodharai...a classic recipe from the Tamil Brahmin's household...it's also been one of my favorites for ever since I even began to remember stuff.
